By David Allen and Peter Schrage – 16 February 2017 06:38:33America is the country with the greatest number of jobless people in the world, according to a new report released today by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The unemployment rate fell to 5.8 percent in February, its lowest since the recession officially ended in June 2009.
The unemployment rate is the percentage of people who want to work, according the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The report also showed that the number of Americans with jobless benefits fell to the lowest level in over a decade.
The total number of unemployment benefits has decreased by more than 25 million people since the end of March 2018.
However, the unemployment rate still remains above the long-term unemployment rate of 6.8%.
According to the report, the decline in the unemployment rates was primarily due to the fact that more Americans began looking for work and the number unemployed began dropping.
The number of people unemployed has dropped by 4.4 million since February 2018, the report said.
