UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA — A university in California is offering free health checkups for all students and faculty, including those in nursing homes.
The university announced the program Tuesday, but has not revealed the number of students and employees who will qualify.
The program will be in place through the end of the school year.
The announcement came after news reports and social media reports about the deadly coronaviruses.
The school says all students will be eligible to enroll.
The initiative follows other recent efforts to address coronaviral issues.
In June, the University of Maryland announced it was offering free flu vaccinations to students in nursing facilities.
In July, California’s Public Health Agency and the University Health System announced a partnership that would give flu vaccinations for students in facilities for the mentally ill.
